River Fishing
Enjoy some excellent
Trout and Salmon fishing on the beautiful banks of the river Lynher
at Berrio Mill. Free for holiday guests!

We have 550m of single left hand bank. Trout can be fished from
16th March to 30th September and Salmon from the 1st March to 14th
October.
Large
spring sea trout, spring salmon and late summer grilse. Trouting
is good in May and June with peal from July. The Lynher is characterised
by predominantly riffle/run sections and pocket water with occasional
deep pools, however this compact section has 5 good holding pools!
Fenced and cut out this winter, this beat has the possibility of
producing some very good sea trout and salmon given adequate water.
Fish with a shorter fly rod or worm/lure. If you only have a 9’
or 10’ fly rod, try filling a spare spool with some 10Ib monofil
and work a worm or two with a few split shot through the pools,
runs and along the undercut banks. Locals get some brilliant results
with these tactics.
Fishing is included for our holiday guests otherwise 3 tokens from
Angling 2000 (www.angling2000.org.uk)
the excellent fishing scheme operated by the Westcountry Rivers
Trust (www.wrt.org.uk).
No dogs. Fly, spinner and worm. No more than 1 salmon, 2 sea trout
and 2 trout to be retained per day.
