Berrio Mill Cornish Honey
Cornwall is not the easiest place to keep bees. Bees thrive on nectar from wild and garden flowers and certain tree blossoms, such as apple, sycamore, lime, etc. The downside for Cornwall is that there are not too many flowers from August onwards unless ones hives are in or near one of the towns.
Please bear in mind, our bees can only get out to collect nectar when the weather conditions allow so honey availability will vary from year to year. Please find below a list of honey we supply.
CORNISH CLEAR HONEY
Clear honey is great on cereals or as an alternative sweetener for hot drinks or baking. Try par boiling parsnips and then coating with a little honey prior to roasting for your winter roast.
CORNISH SOFT SET HONEY
Soft set honey is wonderful on toast or crumpets.
CORNISH CHUNK HONEY
Chunk honey is simply clear honey with a generous chunk of honeycomb. We usually prepare this if there has been a good crop of bramble honey in the comb. This is a favourite of beekeepers.
